"But without further ado, today we're jumping into today's news and if you remember a couple of days ago, we talked about NetEase announcing a new mobile game set in the Destiny Universe and now they've got another new mobile game coming into the Marvel Universe.
This is Marvel Mystic Mayhem, as well as being a great source of alliteration, it is also a new game coming from NetEase."
"The trailer has frozen on me, I can hear the audio, let me refresh the page here, there we go, it's frozen on me again, okay we've got no trailer, I'm going to have to describe what the game is about, this is not great, this is a great start, anyway, basically the game is a tactical team based RPG sort of thing, where you will be taking on the Lord of Dreams, who is a sort of Marvel villain who is taking over the world by, or is trying to take over the world by bringing people's worst nightmares into reality."
"Your favourite heroes, your favourite villains will be a part of this, and so yeah, it seems like pretty standard fare, there's no release date for this game yet, I'll raise right now because pre-registering is available if you want to go and do that, but basically yeah, it sort of came a bit out of nowhere recently and it shows that NetEase is sort of really keeping its ball rolling when it comes to new game releases, as I said before we've got Destiny Rising and it's just a really interesting sort of time to be a Marvel fan I guess because you've also got Marvel Rivals, I believe also coming from NetEase later on this year, so I think yeah, Marvel games are definitely picking up, whether we'll see them sort of succeed is interesting, because obviously Marvel has already brought itself into the mobile game genre before, we've seen Marvel Snap do really well for example because it comes from the minds behind Hearthstone and Ben Brode and people like that, but yeah, I think that Marvel Mystic Mayhem has a good chance of standing out, I think any sort of superhero game is going to have a chance of standing out on the mobile market, but yeah we'll have to see what it does, it's interesting to see how much NetEase is pushing into this mobile space and if they can make stuff that's really sort of new and exciting, because obviously we've got the trailer by the way doesn't show much gameplay, it's just a sort of cinematic and when we had Destiny Rising sort of appear, it was a sort of similar deal where we've not seen any gameplay from these, but I think it would be really interesting to see if they could push the boundary of what we think a mobile game is, because right now we all have this idea of a mobile game, even if it comes from a well known IP like Destiny or Marvel, it's going to have this exploitative mechanics that don't really make it worth the sort of simple gameplay that it offers on your phone, even if it's quite addictive right, so most people will have one or two phone games maybe that they stick to, but it'll be interesting to see if Marvel Mystic Mayhem or Destiny Rising can sort of step out of that."
"Do you think you'll be picking up Marvel Mystic Mayhem, are you going to pre-register for it and what do you think about mobile games in general, do you think they're going to push the boat out or do you think they're still going to remain this niche that sort of sticks best to the candy crush mums of the world."
