He gets better So the first attack he goes from a 1-1 to a 2-2 Then on the second attack, he sort of knows what he's doing at this point So he becomes a 3-3 and he'll gain first strike But he continues to get better with each successive attack He'll go to 4-4, 5-5 as long as you let him stick around. He's gonna be a problem for you And I will not attack as you have a 1-2 so I'll say go ahead so you get to untap and draw All right, so he has flying which means I can't block him so yeah come on through I'll go down to 19 Oh Play your swamp for the turn So for Assassin's Creed we introduced a mechanic called free running you know as a parkour sort of the assassins bouncing off of creature buildings and all that sort of stuff and what it does is When you deal damage with an assassin To your opponent for the rest of this turn you can cast spells cheaper so Jeff should have a swamp in hand and Then should have a creature that normally costs three mana So he wouldn't be able to play at this turn, but because he dealt me damage with his assassin there He has one that merciless Something that there you go that costs two mana went at for free running There you go So it's a 2-1 and what it also says is that when you enter the battlefield when it enters the battlefield you lose a life So you'll go down to 19, but you get to draw an additional card So it card draws a very powerful part of magic the more cards you have the better off you are all right So that's all you can do on your turn in my turn. I'm gonna untap. I'm gonna draw And what I'm gonna do Is I'm gonna play my stone quarry which comes into play tap so I can't use it this turn So I'm gonna play hook blade. I kept both my lands When it comes in the battlefield I can already immediately give it to one of my guys, so I'm gonna give it to Ezio so Ezio now on my turn just like your guy has flying on your turn Ezio has flying on my turn and Also, he gets plus one plus. Oh, so I'm gonna attack you With this he goes from a 2-1 to a 3-2 With flying so your guy can't block him so you take three points of damage And That's all I'm gonna do so it is your turn so one of the things is that we love these partnerships because it's a chance for us you know the Assassin's Creed such a great story and world and They've gone through such great games But we really get to do our best to bring those worlds those stories those characters Into magic and also create amazing art of these characters who you know you get to see in the video games who come to life On the screen, but you don't get to see them Necessarily rendered into this amazing art that our art team and the artists are able to do so like while there's young Ezio in my deck his deck will actually have a Better version an older version of Ezio once he's already sort of the assassin master my deck also features Eivor from the Assassin's Creed series his deck also has Achilles from the series Which would you say was I mean Last year we were checking out Lord of the Rings the art and the lore and the way you guys use characters is similar to This I can guess What was the main feedback piece piece of feedback you got from from that experience?
And how are you sort of applying that lesson to this new?
Collaboration well it was wonderful to see people love that set they love the art They love to see how we represented the characters and stories. You know opinion everyone has opinions They have ideas they have feedback, but overall the response has been positive that people enjoy this they enjoy Especially they enjoy it when it is their game They are Assassin's Creed fans, or if they are Lord of the Rings fans or anything like that It's and they're already existing magic players They're excited to get to see this other game that they love or IP come into our game And for those who aren't existing fans of those IP in many cases They are excited to see the art and know that we're opening the game up to these new people who are fans of this franchise Or this this game In terms of what we've learned and what we're doing going forward I think it's really been reinforcing in terms of the ideas around You know how we approach the stories. How do we do justice? How do we do?
These games and these characters justice and magic so like whereas we have young at CEO We love showing the characters different points in the story which we did in Lord of the Rings and and other series And so having adult at CEO there is a good thing and there's of course more cards in the main set But I'm just discussing with the two decks in front of us Yeah, I don't want to interrupt you you guys keep on going I don't know if you can talk and play at the same time trick I'm a multi-talented individual. What can I say all right Jeff's tapping some mana?
There you go yep, so another one of the assassins obviously his deck is all about assassins My deck while it has some assassins and some characters the theme here is what more of what we call equipments It's more about the tools that they carry so like the hook blade or a of wars axe from the clan There's also another axe in here helm splitter And so there's fun strategies and nuances between these two decks that are being played against each other all right Jeff Are you attacking me? What are you doing?
For one all right flying. I can't do anything about so I will go down to 18 Let's see where I find it on the die there. We go all right anything else sir all right. Let's untap Let's draw All right So I am going to attack you with Ezio again. He still is flying on my turn. He gets bigger now So he is a one two three four three attacking you so he's gonna deal four points of damage in the air He has flying you can't block yeah, the hook blade he lets him run across the Rooftops and fly through the air all right. I'm gonna play a mountain after combats And then I'm gonna pay for and I'm gonna play the labyrinth adversary a Four three he has trample, and he says whenever I'm attacking I can spend two mana and Say one of your creatures can't block for the rest of this turn And then I will say go ahead For Jeff to get some some benefit here, let me ask you something else so to distract you It's also the best possible timing I mean you guys had Lord of the Rings when the show was was very popular last year and now this year You guys are into this an assassin's creed, and we're up. We're about to see the new game at you is a 4-1 So I don't know it is this out of lag. Do you guys nail it on purpose is it's just fantastic isn't it it is fantastic And we work closely with our partners to do our best to try to line these things up But obviously a reality of our business when we're making a physical card game Is that there's a lot of things that go into the timing and positioning of the card game?
And I think that's a big part of what we're trying to do is we're trying to make sure that we're making sure that Is that there's a lot of things that go into the timing and positioning of these games And so when these things line up this way, it's always wonderful. We're always excited about it, but we we definitely Feel very fortunate for how this timing has worked out Okay, Jeff go finish him off All right, so you played a tapped land great if you would like a strategic suggestion I can I can help you out So What I would suggest is that this is an opportunity for you to attack again with this guy You're still sort of waiting But you have a card in hand which will deal with that CEO and so you just need to have the mana Untapped or available to do it now. I wouldn't normally know that obviously But what I would suggest is that you wait until my turn when I very brashly Attack you with that CEO again And then you get the upper hand to cast an instance that might perhaps take care of Ezio when he attacks All right, so it has flying I cannot block I Would be all take one go down to 17 and for the listeners and viewers at home I'll mention I know what's in his hand because for teaching and going over these things I've been setting the opening hands to help ensure that the game gets a good start and flow going That or you're cheating Some might say but again, we're not we're not playing competitive We're here to have a good time and show off the set and the new cards, so I just drew this Well as I mentioned, I'm very confident in my success So I'm going to go ahead and attack in with not only SEO But also labyrinth adversary and I'll use labyrinth adversaries ability to say that this guy cannot block So if you want to block you can only use this guy, but you don't have to this is for damage This goes up again. So it becomes a one three four five That's a five four attacking you in the air, which you can do nothing about Jeffrey To distract you once again and finally what can you tell us about the release details of the essence grid packs?
And what can we spend in terms of content day one and what can come after that?
So the release date will be on July 5th our Marketing kicks off on June 18th, and we'll be revealing cards over several days because there's this these decks But there's also a set the product is being released in a unique way with beyond boosters And as well as collector boosters, and they will be on shelves starting July 5th Fantastic guy guys, thank you so much.
